In my OTRS practise, I have such a problem. Suppose ticket A is closed successfully. Another ticket arrives, let's call it ticket B. It is related to ticket A. So I decide to merge B into A. I find,
- ticket A is still closed. I'd like ticket A is reopen.
- the responsible of ticket A doesn't get a follow-up notification, even I select it in the agent setup in admin panel. I'd like a follow-up notification is sent to the responsible.
How should I configure to make them both happen? Cheers.

Re: A ticket merged to a closed ticket
you should open ticket A with a note or a reply or generic agent. Well, except if you're trying to do appropriate metrics on solution time of ticket A. Then perhaps you merely want to link and not merge the tickets, because, frankly, ticket A is closed. It's still closed. Ticket B may be related, but metric wise, unless it's a continuation of Ticket A, Ticket B is still Ticket B. If Ticket A needs to be opened again, then Ticket A probably (?) never should have been closed.
