OTRS Performance
We have just gone live with OTRS and today is the first day that I have had the whole group fully working in the system at once. I have noticed that users are experiencing page time outs today, and have to hit refresh or reconnect to OTRS. Also, the system seems to freeze and completely stop. I have noticed that Apache is causing the CPU usage to jump up to 70-100% utilization frequently. The server is a VM with 4Gb of RAM and a 1 physical processor. There are probably 1400 open tickets right now, could this be causing the performance issues? Are there any settings I can change to optimize the system further?

Re: OTRS Performance
Just a note it seems that MySQL or other services are not using many resources but Apache is killing performance, would possibly adding a second processor help? Not even sure if OTRS sees any benefit from having dual-processors.

Re: OTRS Performance
Do you mean am I using static memory, processor, etc? Yes I am using static memory 3Gb of RAM but have only assigned one physical processor to the VM. Do you think assigning two physical processors would make a difference?

Re: OTRS Performance
if not already done / checked:
have you already installed the "Support Assessement" module and run it ?
I assume you'll get some answers there what to do (mod_perl, Apache::DBI, ...)

SOLVED -Re: OTRS Performance
I have upped the RAM on the virtual server and stopped the print spooler service as it seems to have been ramping up CPU usage as well. So far so good, hopefully this will resolve the issue.
