Newbie problem, fetched all mails.

Post by MUSN »

Hi!

Greetings from Finland, I have yesterday installed OTRS on a Ubuntu LTS server.

I added my companys sales account from gmail with IMAPS. I use Google to handle all my mails. Maybe not the safest way, but it works perfect instead of running my own mailserver.

I get the mail (over 5000) in to OTRS, but it also emty my gmail mailbox.

1. Possible to get them back on a easy way?
2. Possible to have OTRS to only take copys of the mail (like IMAP should working)?
2. Possible to easy assign them in OTRS as read and put them in a queue. A queue I only use when I search in old mails?

OTRS are easy to install, but hard to be familair with it aand set it up.

you probably missed to read carefully documentation before connet gmail account with OTRS; OTRS will fetch all email in inbox forder and remove it.
1. I don't know any solution
2. yes, you can forward email that must be a ticket to another email account and connected it to OTRS
3. If you mean that a tk must created in a specific queue you can set it in "PostMaster Mail Accounts" or in a more datailed way in "PostMaster Filters"
OTRS 3.0 on Debian with MySQL database connected to Opnen LDAP for Agents and Customers.

Nope, I don't do it!

Can you read all mail and for example get them as a text file?

Want to have them backed up, in someway.
