Add client installed system information to OTRS

Post by jfdelacruz »

Hi,

We're doing a dry run of OTRS for our engineering & services department. We're loving the help desk but we would like to modify it a bit and change the "Customer Company" with the following structure:

Customer Company
-Company Site1 <----These are branches of the company such as Banks...
-Company Site2
-Company SiteN

and each Company Site will be like this:
Company SiteN
-System1 <----these are systems we supplied such as X-ray machines, Access Control Systems, CCTV, etc...
-System2
-SystemN

and each SystemN will be like this:
SystemN
-System Description, P.O#, Warranty End <----these are actually fields

Would like to have an idea on where/how to start with doing this. Editing the database and adding the tables and fields needed isn't the problem. It's the Perl part that's the problem...Which "web files" do we have to edit, create? Which connectors do we reference especially with sessions and logins and such?

Hi there,

you should have a look at the ITSMConfigurationManagement extension. You can define CI-class location and link it with configuration items.

regards, T.
