Hi All,
Recently installed OTRS and trying to sort a number of things before we go live with it.
I have tried to integrate OTRS with my network monitoring system, Nagios. To do this I set Nagios up to send its emails to the email account being monitored by OTRS, which then creates a ticket and moves it into the nagios queue.
Then, I wrote a plugin for Nagios so when the service state is changed back to Ok, it will get a connect to the MySQL backend of OTRS and close the ticket.
This all works fine, however the problem I have is that Nagios may send a number of emails about the same issue, and each of these will raise a new ticket which is a bit of a pain. Ideally, I would like it to only raise one ticket for any problem. The subject and contact of the emails are always the same, e.g.:
Subject: ** PROBLEM Service Alert: MS-BE-01/D:\ Drive Space is CRITICAL **
Any ideas how to just append any further emails to the same ticket, if one is set to open?

use the SystemMonitoring module (installable via Paketmanager) for this

Hi Tom,
I am also trying to do the same thing. Integrating Nagios to OTRS. I am new to OTRS. How did you do the integration ? Could you provide little more info ? What steps are you taking in Nagios and what steps in OTRS ?
