CMDB and linking hardware

Hi,

I've recently installed OTRS and ITSM 3.1.1 in order to evaluate it in our environment...

What I wanted to do in CMDB is to put a link (relation?) between a Network (LAN) and a Computer (Desktop), for example I’d like a incident to propagate to the computer if the Network is put in a "Incident" state, but... if I put the computer in a incident state, I wouldn't want that to propagate to the Network. Is that even possible?

I have tried to search in the documentation but I haven't been able to make heads or tails about what the different link-types are and what affect they have.

Any hints or tips are greatly appreciated.
