I am not sure this is the correct forum to ask this question, but I will just first try here.
We have been using OTRS for some time now for some ticket handling and have decided to increase the scope of use in our company. To ensure this, I have been busy researching possibilities and trying implementation options. Lately though, I keep running into the problem that any change I do through the SysConfig web interface (my preferred method of implementation changes) is not being saved to OTRS itself.
Whenever I try to make a change and click the "Update" button the result is not shown and the former situation is shown, though sometimes the change does 'stick' and when I return later I do see the change has been accepted. The major problem is: This is very much hit-and-miss and I think only about 20% of the changes I am trying to make actually are saved. I have checked if it is a caching problem, but even when commiting a change in one browser and checking the result in the other it seems only 20% of the time or less the changes are actually saved.
As you can understand, this is becoming a huge frustration and is slowing my re-implementation down enormously.
My Google-fu has failed me where before I have always found solutions for OTRS issues through websearch, but this problem seems barely documented. Or maybe I am just not using the correct search terms.
Therefore I would like to ask: Does anyone have any experience with this problem? What can cause this issue and what are the best possible fixes for it?

Please tell us the operating system, the Webserver, the database etc

Hi!
Some changes need to restart web server.
Some changes to be visible - need configuring some another attributes. To view some menu items in agent interfce you need give him some rights in special groups. To view FAQ an agent need to be in group faq - this as an example.
