Sending mail externally

Post by emanjamin2002 »

Hello,

I am new here and new with OTRS. I am using the 3.1.2. Bare with me if my english is not that good time to time. I am from France :)

here is the situation :
1. I was using GLPI in our business which worked pretty well.
2. We are getting into some major project which will required some major Support for our business users. We chose OTRS to get something stable and easy to work with.
3. I set up the Postmaster email account. Which works well I think. The sender email address to this system has also been set. I have several types of tickets and when a ticket is done by a user on that type of tickets, I receive them... which is good.

Problem :
We are not going to be in front of OTRS all day long so we would like to set up an alert or email coming to our Outlook notifying us that a ticket as been create and received in OTRS.
I don't manage to find the configuration file or way to do it on OTRS. As a note on GLPI, i managed to get notification easly... I am a bit lost here.... and spent quite some hours this morning without success.

Thanks a lot.

Hi!
Try to see Agent Notification (or Notification of agents - I have Russian localization) and Event Notification in Admin Area (Ticket Configuration) - there you may configure wide list (variants) of notifications for all kinds of events and types of jobs. :?

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I got to those place and managed to get some things set up (some were already set). But when I create a new ticket from a user, I get the ticket in the queue under my name but I don't receive a mail in my Outlook stating that I received a new ticket..... strange and I think everything is set properly. ???? I will still look around.... in OTRS and see if I get something somewhere.

Thanks again. If you have more advices, I would appreciate.

I don't e-mail specialist :?
There many things. At first try to see in ticket history - does notification send. If it send you need to see e-mail settings both in OTRS and your mail system - Exchange or some else. + Cron cofiguring
