New Ticket Customer Dropdown Issue
Hello all,
I'm experiencing a minor but annoying usability issue with OTRS while creating new tickets. We have a very, very large LDAP attached to OTRS and when creating a new ticket, the auto-fill query naturally takes a few seconds to complete its search. Often, the correct name will come up before the auto-fill search is done doing its thing. The problem is that if we choose the customer from the drop-down before the search is complete, the search seems to continue in the automatically created additional customer field, and when it completes, the auto-fill drop-down expands and the only way to discard it is to select an additional customer at random, then remove that additional customer.
This behavior is reproducible in Chrome, IE9, and Firefox. I'd like to either figure out how to get the search to just stop once a customer is selected, or make it so you can only choose one customer per ticket, so the second customer field never gets created in the first place.

Bump. I'm assuming there's an easy answer to this, at least as to how to limit customers per ticket, which I'm just unable to find. Anyone?

Thanks jojo! That being the case, I've been unable to figure out how to limit the amount of customers which can be assigned to a ticket to just one. Sorry, I don't think I'm understanding you. Are you saying that it's a known issue that you can't limit the number of customers that can be added to any one ticket? I thought you meant that the continued search on the customer field was a bug.jojo wrote:as I already wrote. It is aknown issue/bug
I do know of one deployment of OTRS that only allows you to enter one customer per ticket, I just want to know how to do that.

This behaviour was changed in 3.1 so you need switch back or live with this feature
