Fetch Tickets from External Ticketing tool / DB

Hey guys,

We used a different ticketing tool with say MySQL DB and it has around 2000 tickets. Now we have OTRS . I want to have a copy of those tickets in the new OTRS. Is it possible?

Also what procedure to follow for other databases. Or is it possible to import only previous OTRS's DB.

if you wan't to import other tickets you need to develop an import tool (which might be very expensive...)

I'd seriously think if you really need to import the old tickets from the old system. When we got otrs we just stopped logging tickets in the old system and just let it ramp down. We built a search on on the old database just so we could still view them. But we were glad we made a fresh start with otrs as the quality of old tickets was poor in comparison.
