Update to OTRS helpdesk 3.1.11 breaks Firefox support

Post by Arno »

Hi,

I just migrated a test environment of OTRS from 3.1.10 to 3.1.11 and Firefox (current version 16.0.1) is broken. The browser says "The browser you are using is too old. OTRS runs with a huge lists of browsers, please upgrade to one of these. Please see the documentation or ask your admin for further information". IE10, latest Safari and latest Chrome all work fine. Is this an issue in OTRS 3.1.11? Firefox 16.0.1 works just fine in OTRS 3.1.10. Since 3.1.11 is a security update, we'd like to update as soon as possible.

Regards,
Arno

Hi jojo,

I did twice using bin/otrs.SetPermissions.pl so that is likely not the issue. If it where a server issue, then other browsers should have a similar issue right?

did you delete all cache files? In most cases this is a loader cache issue.

Is the OTRS Log telling something?

The cache has been cleared twice with bin/otrs.DeleteCache.pl, the logs in var/log show no specific information, it holds only Performance.log and TicketCounter.log

I've checked the apache's logs (good idea!) and found some errors related to Googles mod_spdy, removing that from Apache directly enabled OTRS again. Weird that OTRS 3.1.10 doesn't break with spdy.

I had the same problem moving from 3.1.10 to 3.1.11, Firefox was the only browser acting up, Chrome and IE worked fine. I always prefer using Firefox and everyone tells me it is the most stable but whenever I add extensions or other programs it is the one acting up the most.

I cleared all my Cache files and Log files and JoJo was indeed correct, I also had some errors in my Apache logs as well and it seems to be working now! Thanks, hopefully when FF updates next everything will continue working.
