Error upgrading OTRS 3.0 to 3.1

Hello,

I want upgrade OTRS 3.0.5 to 3.1.11 but i get this error:

[root@otrs otrs-3.1.11]# scripts/DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl

What i have to do to check the framework version or to upgrate it?

the configured directory in Config points to the old version. READ AND FOOLOW EXACTLY THE UPGRADING FILE

ok, Im triying to upgrading with RPM but i get this error:

[root@otrs /]# rpm -Uvh otrs-3.1.11-01.noarch.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
Check OTRS user ... otrs exists.
usermod: user otrs is currently logged in
error: %pre(otrs-3.1.11-01.noarch) scriptlet failed, exit status 8
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping otrs-3.1.11-01


Can you help me please?

why a user otrs is logged in? Log off this user and try again

what is the content of you RELEASE file in the OTRS home directory?

PRODUCT = OTRS
VERSION = 3.0.10
BUILDDATE = Fri Jul 29 14:56:57 CEST 2011
BUILDHOST = lusen.otrs.org

so you did not upgrade all files properly. This is a 3.0.x not a 3.1.x

Please follow all instructions in the UPGRADING file
