(SOLVED) Customer Companies necessary here?

Hi,

could you please explain something to me. Yes I have looked all around and in the manual but there doesn't seem to be an answer.

I have enabled Company Tickets (Frontend::Customer::ModuleRegistration) and I see that anyone with the same Customer_ID can see each other's tickets, of which I'm happy with.

I just wondered what the point of creating a Customer Company is? Because it doesn't seem to be necessary to enable company tickets.

Customer Company is important if you've enabled Customer Company support. This changes CustomerID from free form in the Customer Management screen to a drop down list of CustomerID that are listed in Companies. (Therefore, Companies are imperative to be set before adding Customers.)
OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.
