(SOLVED) Attachment confusion

Post by bayerex »

Hi there,

can you please tell me the correct way to handle attachments? The problem we have is some agents need to send a customer an attachment which is often a zipped .exe/.msi. Naturally this is causing problems when they go to send because the dialog hangs, then fails due to customer's mail server rejecting the mail.

It would be good enough if the customer simply receives a notification that the agent has attached a file to the ticket and that they should log in and download it.

Is the solution to attach the file via a note and then send the customer an email through OTRS afterwards?

Thanks for your help
