OTRS Nagios Integration

I have to monitor OTRS heartbeat. All tutorials from Internet shows how to make OTRS receive notifications from nagios, but i want to monitor OTRS system itself. Anyone tried it yet?

you should check:

- Webserver
- MySQL
- Cron
- Disk Space

Hi jojo,

I can tell you that is not enough.
I monitor everything you specified and last Sunday I encountered an outage.

Everything was worked fine but OTRS didn't respond. The only message we get it was "Your browser is too old....." and in /var/log/http/error_log the message "[Sun Mar 17 07:18:55 2013] [notice] child pid 19241 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)" many many times (with different pids of course).

I solved the problem with a restart to Apache. I still don't know how to monitor OTRS to find out next time from the system not from the users.

that was most likely a Memory or disk error.

Pretty strange because Megamon and blade monitoring system are not reporting any problems.

I'll keep an eye on it anyway.
