Hello guys,
we use OTRS Version 3.2.8 with customer webinterface and some Key-User of our customers are also OTRS Agents!
My Problem is that our company location will be switched to a new town and that means our Internet connection speed changes, form 1 Gbit/s to a 16 Mbit/s. Do you have any experience with the Internet speed and the use of OTRS?
So my question is wich Internet speed is minimum required?
Kind Regards
TobiKK

Dialup, probably, unless you need to attach multi-gb files to tickets.
OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.

Re: Minimum requierd Internet Speed for OTRS use?
I know thre is only http or https traffic, not more and the size of the attachment could be handled by a maximum size config in otrs.crythias wrote:Dialup, probably, unless you need to attach multi-gb files to tickets.
Also I'm able to configure the prio of the packages in the Router or the Switch configuration.
But if 8. intrenal Agents plus 1. external Agent, iphone App Web Access, Exchange OWA, RDP, normal Internet use and Downloads, all on the same Internet Connection........ could be a pproblem!?!?! I think so....!
For my better understanding, with dialup you mean a analog modem conncetion?

Yes. 56k modem. Maybe even 300 baud ...tobikk wrote:For my better understanding, with dialup you mean a analog modem conncetion?
Your original question asks for minimum required speed for OTRS use. I'm assuming you're talking about http/https traffic. And aside from transferring large attachments, *OTRS* has no low speed limits upon which it won't function.
And your concern is only about OTRS? I think you may need to rethink your priorities.tobikk wrote:But if 8. intrenal Agents plus 1. external Agent, iphone App Web Access, Exchange OWA, RDP, normal Internet use and Downloads, all on the same Internet Connection........ could be a pproblem!?!?! Also, you might consider a hosted VPS if OTRS bandwidth is your concern.
