New Install

I'm install OTRS 3.2.11 from the tar.gz file on Ubuntu Server 13.04

I've followed several different web pages, including the official documentation. I can get through the initial setup of the database, but when I log onto the server with root@localhost for the first time it fails. This has been very consistent. I've tried Ubuntu server 12.04 and 12.10 also and get the exact same error.

I've uploaded the Apache log file (and I admit - I'm not familiar with Apache). I've double checked to make sure the libxml-simple-perl module is loaded.

I was unable to find any other posts on here that helped - but if this has been addressed, please post the link.

please check the internet connection of the server. A proxy might delvier instead of some fetched xml file a text message and so the parser fails

Yeah, I saw that in some of the posts, but I definitely have Internet connectivity. I do sit behind both a content filter (I work for a school district) and a firewall, but the IP address I am using on the server has no restrictions.

Any other ideas?

If yes, try using dashboard. If it fails here, see my above post

Well, that worked.

Ok - I'll keep troubleshooting - but at least I can get in to do some configuring.

Yep - When I click on Dashboard it bombs......

Ok - the Dashboard is definitely an issue. No matter what I do, it crashes every time I try to visit it. I KNOW I have a good clean connection to the Internet.

Can you point me to the file so I can see what it is trying to load so I can troubleshoot further?

Not to be obtuse, but is there somewhere inside OTRS - a config file somewhere I can turn these off? I can wget that file from the server; I can ping the address; I just can't get the dashboard to work - crashes every time.....

did you delete the caches (and tried afterwards again)?

Nope.

Ran that and still not getting Dashboard for admin. Not that big a deal I guess - I just do the Action=Admin and I'm where I want to be anyway. Got LDAP working great for Agents and Customers. Like what I've seen so far.

I'll keep watching the forums and see if someone figures out what this is.....

Be happy to troubleshoot further just don't know where to look at the moment....
