No Misspellings Found

I just updated my OTRS 3.2.8 to new hardware and to OTRS 3.2.10. Unfortunately neither aspell nor ispell work in the OTRS web interface. Aspell did work on the old box (running same version of openSuse) I can drop to a bash shell on the box, and aspell works fine. The only result I ever get back from the web interface is "Spellcheck complete: No misspellings found."

Where do I even begin to look? Aspell is at /usr/bin/aspell, and OTRS has the correct path.

openSuse 12.3 x64, latest patches
Aspell 0.60.6.1
Apache 2.2.22-10.8.1
MySQL 5.5.32-1.8.1

I'm not sure but my first guess would be there's no language file found ... take a look into the apache logfile if there are entries like "can't open ... " after you did a spell check ...
