Sending email from OTRS

I have OTRS installed as a VM from a TurnKey Linux VM install.

I have most of the system setup, however I cannot figure out how to get OTRS to send email?

We are using Google Apps. for Education as our email system and I have OTRS retrieving email manually, but I want it to do it automatically every 5 minutes.
