Otrs 3.1. Cpanel and mod_perl

Hi,

We are trying to get otrs installed on centos 5.5 with cpanel, but my host is sending me the following error:

root@id5832 apache]# perl /opt/otrs/scripts/apache2-perl-startup.pl
[Wed Feb 29 07:50:18 2012] apache2-perl-startup.pl: Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at /opt/otrs/scripts/apache2-perl-startup.pl line 28.
MOD_PERL not used! at /opt/otrs/scripts/apache2-perl-startup.pl line 28.

The script they provide simply doesn't seem to recognize the cPanel installed mod_perl.

Any advice on where to go from here?

Do you have a dedicated host? IMHO, Most hosting providers won't work with OTRS unless they allow background processes. Most require you to have a dedicated host for that sort of thing.

I switched to a VPS provider and did a fresh install of 3.1.1 from an SSH shell. Worked like a charm!

Now to do the 3.1.2 update!
