OTRS integrating with other ticketing system

Hi everybody,
I need to know if there is some possibility of integrating OTRS with other trouble ticketing system.

Our clients have a central ticketing system (i.e. Sharepoint, but it could be also Remedy or some other) and they would to import, in real time, a serie of information about the ticket (created in their system), into our OTRS ticketing system (version 2.2.4).

How can I approch this argument?

For this requirement you need to develop (or let develop) a webservice to the other system.

you also need to upgrade to 3.1.x as this version brings the needed webservices framework

Why I need to upgrade to 3.1.x? If I develop a webservice, I can customize completely my webservice, also because, in the past, I try to upgrade the OTRS version (from 2.2.4 to 3.0.6) but it was a very failure and a great disaster. So I'l prefer to maintain the actualy versioni also if it's very dated.

because OTRS 3.1. has a generic backend for webservices where you just can hook in...

2.2. is not mantained...
