sending email from organization mail domain to OTRS

Hi all,
I want to send mail from my company mail server to otrs, how would I achieve this?
I have set a pop3 email but it fetches mail from the user mail server at some schedule time.
Client requires that they can send an email to OTRS.
Please guide me I am trying these achiving from last 2 days

you need to set up a local MTA on the OTRS server. Than you can use procmail for inserting mails into OTRS.

Hi jojo,
can you elaborate in more detail.
Since I am having POP3 configured I am able to fetch all mails from one account set in pop3.
I want to know 2 things
what email address the customer will use in order to send mail to OTRS?
My Thinking says that I have to set in Under Email settings->Email addresses
OR
send tickets to admin email address will display the tickets in OTRS.
Which one is correct frm above?

2nd)you specified procmail which I am not able to get it?
you mean to say that instead of POP3, I should use procmail ?

I am having no idea about this issue as I am trying my best to understand the settings

Please guide me for the same.

if you use POP3 the address of the po3 account is used and also needed in the Mail Address settings of OTRS

Hi JOJO,
I am not getting.
Can you please give me some hint for sending mail to OTRS.

I am having OTRS installed on windows xp.
I found that procmail is use for linux OS

how do I go for this issue.

I am able to get email from otrs to organization domain mail (my office mail)
but could not send to otrs@localhost

I want to know what email should I set in order to send mail to OTRS
and where should I set the email in OTRS in order for OTRS to recieve mail.

Please guide for the same.

@saumil1287: can you describe the situation more detailed?

* You are able to fetch mails from a mail server.
* This mail server is not the company's mail server.
* You want to fetch mails from your company's mail server.

Is that correct?

So

* has your company set up a mail server?
* can you ask the mail server administrator for a POP3 account?
* define (yourself) a mail address that should be assigned to that POP3 account.
* That is the address all clients (external or inhouse doesn't matter) should send mails to.

If you need to set up a mail server, you can find a list of mail servers at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mail_servers there are some mail servers for windows mentioned.

The situation here as follows.

Client requirement is that they can send email directly to OTRS using their office mail.

My findings from last 2-3 days
I have added a new postmaster mail which was configured via POP3, I am able to fetch mail from the test pop3 configured account(this pop3 account was only created for testing purpose and not in domain of office mail server)
but I want from my company email, I should be able to send mail to OTRS.
I am able to recieve mail from otrs to our office email box but not able to send mail from office mail to otrs.

I have installed OTRS on windows xp 2000.

how should I set OTRS from recieving emails from office mail addresses?
