OTRS CMBD search, no text box

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help?
We have just started using OTRS, looks great but as we add further fields/sections in the CMDB section, we are having issues where, as we select search (Overview/new/search) a particular sections say Hardware that we have created, when the search box comes up, we pick a field we have added but we cannot "Add entry" or extra text to search on. If we choose a default field that was added and press the plus icon by that main field selected, an extra box appears to add more text to search on within the main field selected. I have looked at Sys config, but cannot locate anything to add or enable the extra pop up text search box for particular fields within CMDB. Hope that made sense.

I can see someting with settings for agent ticket search view but nothing for CMDB
