After reading some further documentation I have just found that in this TurnKey linux install I used for their VM file.

There is not a /opt/otrs directory

Should I save my configs from OTRS and build a new VM with a clean direct install?

please ask the turnkey keys or try the OTRS appliance build by xxx (still in beta)
