Link Object screen for CI shows only first 50 search results

Hello everyone,

I was having trouble with linking a software CI to our computer CI's in the CMDB module. I navigate to the zoom screen for the particular software CI and then click 'Link'. When I search for computer CI's, the Link Object popup screen shows me only the first 50 search results. This inconvenient for me, as I have a few hundred computers that I would like to link that software to. I have searched for a solution to this problem on this forum before, and there are already three threads on it (please see the links below). Unfortunately, none of them contain any solutions.

If someone has a solution to this problem, or knows if OTRS is working on a fix for it, or can tell me how I can report this problem to the OTRS folks, I would be very appreciative.

I forgot to mention that I am using OTRS version 3.3.3, and ITSM version 3.3.3. Installed ITSM modules are GeneralCatalog, ITSMCore, ITSMConfigurationManagement, and ImportExport. The system is running on Ubuntu Server 12.04.3, MySQL 5.3.32, and Apache 2.2.22. If any other information is required to solve this issue, I would appreciate it if someone would let me know. Any help at all would be appreciated.

use a better search for the linking, it does not really makes sense to show hundreds of items...

Thanks for the reply. I'm not quite sure I understand your logic. I assumed it would be easier to link the software CI to all the computer CI's in one go rather than link each computer CI individually to the software CI. What I'm trying to do is to track license compliance for our software. I would be very appreciative if you could elaborate on how I can make my search better.

CI is not optimal for license compliance. You should use a gathering utility for this.
