issues with otrs.daemon.pl

Hello all,

I am trying to install OTRS on CentOS. I am new to OTRS and Linux.

I'm trying to have the otrs daemon start with the otrs user. Do I need to create a otrs user account, or does the OTRS install include one?

I use the command: su -c "/opt/otrs/bin/otrs.Daemon.pl start" -s /bin/bash otrs | Then, I get:

Could anyone offer some advice to get me going? Is there a default password associated? I enters my current user and the root password but the authentication failed.

Wrong forum, anyway. The su command asks for the password of the user you like to substitute. That's otrs in this case. I recommand to execute this command as the otrs user himself.

Hi,

if you install the rpm the otrs user will be created.
If you install via tar.gz you have to create it on you own
