New Menu option to search for ticket #s

I'm new on this forum so I'd appreciate any feedback.
We'd like to add a new option in our menu. When users click the magnifier to search for tickets. The search screen takes about 5-8 seconds to load. Many users already have a ticket # to search based on the email alerts or escalations.
I'd like to know if someone has any pointer so we can add another search option/menu where users can only type the ticket # without having to wait for the search pop-up to load.


I did a search for similar posts but I couldn't find similar entries.

Btw, I moved the topic from developers to help.

Regarding your question: The easiest way is to enable the full-text search in the toolbar. If the input is a valid ticket # this is recognized and the ticket shows asap.
Search the System Configuration for the setting Frontend::ToolBarModule###220-Ticket::TicketSearchFulltext and enable it.
