Znuny 7.1 Not Responding To FQDN

Post by monty1157 »

Hi,
I've recently been looking at Znuny as a potential helpdesk/ticketing system for reporting IT issues within our education estate and as such built a test system to evaluate things. I followed the install instructions for the RHEL based install (in reality it's Rocky 9.5) and all went well. However I came across a weird issue with accessing the server via the web interface as soon as I went to do the installer step and has persisted since that was completed.

Even although I've had helpdesk.edu.sch (our internal domain) in on our DNS servers for a while now so it translates to the correct IP (10.0.0.16) and I get a response from the server I cannot get the server to respond to anything but the IP address. e.g. http://10.0.0.16/znuny/index.pl works whereas http://helpdesk.edu.sch/znuny/index.pl doesn't. I've checked that the FQDN and External FQDN settings in System Configuration/Core are correct (helpdesk.edu.sch) and I've even went as far as changing them to something different, saving and applying the changes, then changing it back but the issue remains in that the server will not respond to the FQDN. I've also had a look through the apache settings but can't see where this setting would be applied as as far as I can tell Znuny doesn't use the usual Apache virtualhosts directives.

Any assistance in helping me resolve this would be appreciated as I'm a bit stumped as I've been through the documentation and a bit of relatively minor searching on these forums but can't quite find anything that directly matches the issue that I'm dealing with.

Thank you.

Cheers,
Monty
