slurp_filename problem

I have recently upgraded my OTRS2 installation (part of a distro upgrade from Ubuntu Jaunty to Lucid via Karmic) - now 2.4.7-1 from 2.3.2-2.

After the upgrade I get the following error when trying to connect to the OTRS site using http://host/otrs/ (it worked after the upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic) - .../index.pl is now required otherwise giving:

Software error:

slurp_filename('/var/www/otrs') / opening: (2) No such file or directory at /usr/lib/perl5/ModPerl/RegistryCooker.pm line 541

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem with this. It's not a big deal, but some of the customers might get lost.
