OTRS on Fedora 14?

Post by drn76 »

I am about to install OTRS for the first time. I am planning on using Fedora. I see that the OTRS download page (http://otrs.org/downloads/) has an RPM package for Fedora 4 through 11. Has anyone else used this package on a newer version of Fedora? I was thinking about 13 or maybe even 14.

Thanks,
Daniel

I will update this on the next run in the downloads page. The package will work on 13. Do not forget to turn off SELINUX.

Thanks for the info guys. I did the install on Fedora 13 and it worked fine. I was a bit confused in a few of the instruction sections but that was probably my bad. I did turn of SELINUX but only because I googled for that solution, not because I saw it in the instructions from the OTRS wiki I was using. I may have just missed it though. After the install, I set SELINUX back to enforced.

So now I need to figure out if it is possible to set up redundant OTRS web servers and databases and if so, how to go about doing that. We have 2 Data centers and they spec'd out a OTRS web serve for each one, so I guess the idea is to have an active one and a backup one. I'll research that some and then start another post if neccessary.
