Hi,
I am having a strange issue where i have setup otrs to send emails via our managed SMTP server. i can send emails out using the admin notification option under system administration but for some reason the auto response email is not sent out when a new ticket is created.
Also i can forward tickets onto external contacts and OTRS customers fine.
in my response-queue relations i have the auto reply message for new tickets set to active for my default queue in which all tickets arrive.
The system is generating these emails because it logs it in the ticket history and i do not get any errors in the syslog.
Where should i look next?

Hi Guys,
I managed to find what was stopping the automated responses out. under Admin>SysConfig>Framework> Core::Sendmail there was an option for "SendMailNotificationEnvelopeFrom" This by default is unticked which would give it the value of root@otrs as the sender of any emails that are generated and sent out by the system. This domain was not registered in my SMTP server so it was getting refused. Once i ticked the box and entered the email account that i had in my POP3 settings (ad which was also registered in my SMTP server) it all started to work BRILLIANTLY!
