Problem INstalling otrs 3.0.6 Ubuntu 10.04

I'm trying to install OTRS 3.0.6 on a Ubuntu server 10.04, I've followed instrucctions from wiki, but after creating the database in web installer I get the following error:

Software error:

no connection to syslog available
- /dev/log is not a socket at /opt/otrs//Kernel/System/Log/SysLog.pm line 63.

Any idea of whats happening?

is your syslogd running?
"Production": OTRS™ 8, OTRS™ 7, STORM powered by OTRS
"Testing": ((OTRS Community Edition)) and git Master
