Hi,
I was able to do the following:
- create a new Catalog Item class using Admin > General Catalog > ITSM::ConfigItem::Class > Add Catalog Item > put in TestCI
- created a class definition for the new catalog item in Admin > Config item > TestCI > Change class definition
- created a new config item as "CC14281" for the newly created config item class using CMDB > New > TestCI
- when you go to CMDB > Overview, the TestCI could be found along with Hardware, Computer, Location, etc on the menu
- however when you go to CMDB > Overview > All or CMDB > Overview > TestCI, "CC14281" is not being listed
- but when you perform a search, "CC14281" could be found
I am not sure if this is a bug or I am just missing out something on OTRS settings thus I'm posting this over to this forum.
Things that I have noticed:
1036xxxxxx - current config IDs for Software class having 10 characters in length
10146xxxxxx - current config IDs for the TestCI class having 11 characters in length
Thanks in advance!

Re: Config Item Issue
Did you check permissions? You may have assigned different permissions to the new class created. Log in using that member and you should be able to see this CI.

Re: Config Item Issue
Thanks fondofotrs. Yes I did set the permissions. I could view the newly created config item "CC14281" when I perform a search but not when I do CMDB > Overview > All or CMDB > Overview > TestCI.
I have also tried to create a new class as TestCI2 but the result is just the same
